Proverbs 31 in the Bible admonishes Women to model ourselves after this virtuous woman. The tenth verse says, "who can find a virtuous woman? For her price is far above rubies." Ruby was chosen to be a precious jewel. Named after her grandmother who paved the way as a virtuous woman, Ruby continued in her grandmother's legacy and lived this beautiful name. Our Ruby Mae Green was preciously gifted to this world on January 4, 1988, and called home to be with the Lord on June 9, 2021. She is preceded in death by her mother, Luella Anderson, her father, Cleamon Lee Matthews, and her most precious creation, Nasiy Lee Green. In her most formative years, from infancy to early childhood, she was raised and nurtured by her aunt, Fannie Anderson aka Aunt Shug. While living in Waco she joined Carver Park Baptist Church and gave her life to Christ. She reconnected with and married her one true love, Lee Andrew Green, who was her classmate from Haltom City High School class of 2007. From this Godly union they created the most perfect and loved son, born on January 22, 2021. From Ruby's first smile, she infused everyone she encountered with the same contentment for life and joy that she carried inside of her heart. She was an example of compassion, meekness, kindness, gentleness, biblical womanhood and motherhood. She honored, adored and loved her husband and was a crown, helpmeet and rib unto him. She served The Most-High with a deep passion, dedication and zeal and personified the qualities and character laid out in the Bible. She never met a stranger, she was assertive in doing good, she was thoughtful, funny, easy to confide in, and was an excellent wife, mother, stepmother, daughter, sister, aunt, niece and cousin. She influenced those around her to be better, and many of her kind words, Godly behavior, life lessons, servanthood and beautiful qualities are evident, as those she touched strive to live out her legacy. She always operated in love, had long-suffering patience and was slow to anger. She was an avid reader and doer of her Bible and commands of The Most-High. Ruby's soul always poured out into others. She was never without a word of encouragement: reaching out with a touch that was filled with love, listening with ears that genuinely cared, seeing you through eyes that conveyed her concern or a hug that enveloped your entire being with love, security and peace. Only a most precious and rare gift could embody all these qualities. She always advocated for the most vulnerable, being a Court Appointed Special Advocate of Tarrant County (CASA). She was a member of the Praise Dance Ministry at Carver Park Baptist Church where she choreographed and danced for Christ. She taught Vacation Bible School (VBS) and sang in the choir. Ruby was a true entrepreneur. She created a motivational life coaching site, Let Me Motivate Me (LM3), which continues to touch lives each day. She and her husband created Pearls and Chains and Few R Chosen, businesses created to minister to others through gifts and apparel. Ruby has lived a life that exemplifies The Most-High and will be missed so immensely for all she possessed and shared. But above all else, she will be missed for the woman she was. She leaves behind her strong husband, Lee Andrew Green; daughter, Madelyn Green and son Corbyn Green. Her mother/Aunt, Aunt Shugg Fannie Anderson. Her siblings: Cleamon Lee Matthews Jr and his daughter Bailey Matthews, sister Octavia Anderson and her children: Osyrus, Tatiyana and Cristavia Woodruff; brothers, Rowdy, Darron and Jarron Matthews; sisters, Toniki and Alisha Matthews. And a myriad of Uncles, Aunts, Nieces, Nephews, cousins and dear friends.
