Honoring our Matriarch Mrs Carla Denise Burnett On Nov. 12, 1961 Ernestine D. Brown and Booker T. Washington Sr. was blessed with the birth of Carla Denise Brown in Jefferson, TX. At a young age the family relocated to Fort Worth, TX where she received her formal education. In 1973, she received the 1st place Scholarship Award from East Van Zandt Elementary School. She was also honored by the Fort Worth Press for winning the Spelling Bee Championship. As an alumnus of Green B. Trimble Technical High School she served on the drill team. Later in life, while employed with Church’s Chicken she went to San Antonio, TX for managerial training where she met her husband Mr. Richard Burnett. It was love at first sight and the 2 joined as one and embodied the definition of true love. While being a devoted wife and incredible mother she chose to work with Sprint PCS. She was honored by Sprint PCS with cell site DA03XC238 located in Dallas, TX for being an exemplary employee. She then decided to join forces with the Williams Chicken franchises by supplying homemade chocolate and 7-up cakes from scratch. Just Cakes Inc was a successful business for many years that she loved because she was able to share with so many people something her mother taught her. 36 years of togetherness…….. In 1984, Mr. & Mrs. Burnett began servicing the Lord together at New York & Leuda St. Church of Christ under Bro. Al Broughton. They were members for over 25 years before the family moved membership to Stop Six Church of Christ which is now known as East Pointe Church of Christ under Bro. Kristopher K. DarDar Sr. She was a faithful servant for the Lord who loved her husband, daughters, and entire family dearly. On Feb. 5, 2020 a loyal wife, loving mother, caring grandmother, and supportive sister heard her name called by the Lord. Mrs. Burnett transitioned from her earthly home to see the King and be reunited with her dear husband and sweet mother who she missed so much. Mrs. Burnett was preceded in death by Richard L, Burnett (Husband), Ernestine D. Brown (Mother), Booker T, Washington Sr. (Father), Annie Bell Jackson (Sister) James L. Washington (Brother), Booker T. Washington Jr. (Brother), John L. Washington (Brother), Arthur L. Washington (Brother). She lives in Shanetta D. Caldwell (Dajuan), Shannon D. Brown, Shauna K. Brown, Karen R. Ross, Darla K. Brown, Delores Jones, Linda C. Brown, Charles E. Brown, Ivory L. Brown (Sheila), Marcus W. Brown, Shon K. Brown (Angela), 7 grandchildren, and a host of relatives & friends' hearts forever.
